Jora Kampfrun
Fang Daddy
Currently, Jora (in the rotting body of Ken) is on his way to the Lotus Canal. From there he can go many places, but it’s not unreasonable to think he’s either headed toward Fane or Highgate.
Cursed by the Sunlord Anir, and blessed by Mephistopheles, Jora is the first vampire. In the depths of the Cult of Pain’s (blood cult) sanctum, Melinoe Expspiravit spotted his spirit lingering around the coffin in which his ashes were lain, and watched as the occasional soul would be drawn to the coffin only to flicker before being consumed. His ancient figure was cloaked in wrinkled fetid skin, but his icy blue eyes drew her in. Something possessed her, and Melinoe stole the ashes from the Cult of Pain - whether that truly was to stop the cult from resurrecting him or not is up for debate - which lead to her fleeing Highgate. After some time, Jora’s ghost made itself known to her, and despite everything, she found him to be very polite and even grew to enjoy his company.
Jora also found that, over time, he grew fond of the odd Efren and her entertaining companions. Concerned about his remains, he pleaded with her to return him back to his powerful self. Unfortunately, Melinoe was unaware of how to even go about it. Though she was told that should he get his body back, his goal would be to seek revenge on those that betrayed him - specifically those in Fane. She was even promised the traditional rewards - becoming a vampire, gaining powers, gaining eternal life, serving the powerful - but none of these really appealed to Melinoe. However, Jora is nothing but patient, even as he discovers that he has more questions about this new world than Melinoe has answers. This, of course, doesn’t sit well with Treldaan Freep who will go back and forth on wanting to get rid of Jora - which is only escalated as he’s grown in power.
As time went on, Jora and Melinoe began to share memories. This opened up a deeper understanding of both parts - though the reason why their souls seemed to be connected is lost to both of them. Through his memories, Melinoe felt that perhaps he had been more than just the first vampire, and may be in fact a fae lord - though if he is Jora doesn’t know it. But there were fetishes from The Shadowfell related to him, one of which Melinoe took to show him since they were separated at that time. It was then that a true bond was formed between the two and, unbeknownst to either of them, a pact was sealed between the two giving Melinoe her warlock powers.
Their journey also revealed that Jora had, at one point, stolen the moon with the goal of throwing it at Anir and plunging the world into darkness, but when he failed he gave it to Minarius - who promptly lost it. In addition, it was revealed that Jora could, in his current state, posses people. It started as a small thing and escalated with the train journey and Mr. Greene. He even eventually possessed Severin, before taking his leave. Now in the body of Ken, Jora has sought his revenge on those that have wronged the legacy of those closest to him, and has parted ways with Melinoe taking his ashes with him.
