Onslow Greene
Onslow Greene was a mutant from Mistmire Citadel, that was allegedly making a new life for himself as a sea creature (mainly fish) merchant. As is fairly typical with merchants, he took great care with his appearance - favoring a large trenchcoat with a plethora of pockets that mainly seemed to serve his cigar habit. While he was a rather respectable southern-sounding gentleman, he was not without his secrets as he possessed a tome that he seemed to be overly protective of. Though, when pressed about it by Melinoe Expspiravit, who made quick friends with him, he seemed covertly inclined to share its contents in a very quid pro quo way.
After some casual conversation with him, The Goons felt that he resembled Gaanu Tench a little too much, which they were wary of since they were currently being hunted by the legendary figure. This stemmed from a variety of things including the fact that he was a southern-sounding gentleman, made reference to how he liked to “be one with water,” and his gambling habit.
While this ultimately proved to be unfounded, that was the least of their problems with Mr. Greene who, unbeknownst to them had been possessed by Jora Kampfrun, openly attacked and hunted Melinoe. While she did not believe that Mr. Greene was in his right mind, as his eyes had gone dark and his irises had taken on a red color, Melinoe had not suspected possession - which in hindsight had been obvious.
Notable quotes that should have been a red flag include: “Oh don’t run now DARLINGGGGGGG!” “Ah Ah Ah! HAHA! Now, NO NEED to be RUDE” and “Oh, but we had SUCH GRAND SIGHTS TO SHOW YOU”
While she was able to evade most of his attacks, Melinoe pleaded for her companions, who ultimately were able to subdue Mr. Greene and investigate his person for signs of why he had gone berserk. Unsurprisingly, they mainly found cigars, but also ended up discovering he also possessed various (nonmagical) rings and a locked journal.
The journal consisted of a log of where he’s been and what business dealings he’s had. Various recipes he appeared to be fond of. He also had a series of notes about his dealings with Zayeed Ebek-Sur and how he attempted to convince him to begin selling that fancy water of his but was frustrated Zayeed refused. As well as a cataloging of the nightmares he had been having about the time he was nearly sold by a mechan fellow like The Master Butler: Master of Sales when he was younger to a man who wanted to eat him, and he’s almost certain it’s the same bucket of bolts. Finally, there were several pages that appeared to have been torn out near the end.
