After a few glorious days at sea aboard the Sea Wolf, we’ve docked in Fane to secure the urn for Jora Kampfrun‘s ashes. Though Fane isn’t the friendliest of places for those that look otherworldly, a blacksmith near the docks was kind enough to point us in the right direction when I told him that we were simply picking up E’san‘s order and had no intention of staying any longer than necessary. Which, after having seen the charred corpses, we probably wouldn’t have stayed longer regardless. While neither I nor Treldaan are exactly welcome here, as made very clear by the not-so-subtle guards following us, I’m sure I’m in far more danger than he is. From Fane at least.
E’san seems to have hired a very skilled and discrete craftsman for this job. Though I don’t remember meeting this beardless scarred Dwarf, he seems to know the three of us - not that he mentioned it per se, he just has that look about him and seems to know more than he lets on.
With the urn secured, we began our trek back through the city, though it wasn’t long before Treldaan and Severin spotted a bookshop they wanted to take a peak in. Leaving them to their own devices, and wanting nothing more than to be back on the ship, I pressed on. It wasn’t long, however, until the guards saw their golden opportunity to accost me in the street, now that I was alone. All things considered, I handled the situation with grace until the boys were about to catch up. The guards were nice enough to release me into the care of Sev, with the promise that we were leaving the city - and Treldaan felt the need to tell them he was in the Mage Hunters, as if that would gain him some sort of respect.
Jedek wasn’t far behind, as Fane seems to make him just as uncomfortable, and we were thankfully at sea once more. Of course, that didn’t mean that things would be peaceful. Sev informed me that Treldaan had been not so secretively rummaging around the captain’s quarters looking for our newly got urn, with the intention of throwing it overboard if he found it. Thankfully I’ve been around enough warry and untrustworthy people to know that you keep important things close less you “lose” them. I’ve thwarted his plans this time, but I’ll have to take action to make sure he doesn’t think this is acceptable.
