Aelar
Sonrae's Former Mentor
Aelar is a high elven man, and is around 500 years of age. He is tall for an elf, roughly 6 foot. He holds himself with a bit of a swagger, and is charismatic and confident. He is a bladesinger similar to Sonrae, but rather than enhancing his physical ability, he uses his blade as a magical focus to become a stronger wizard. He is well-kept, with shorter sandy blonde hair that is streaked with gray, and a clean-shaven face. He wears plain gray robes with white trim, and moves and acts in a slow and methodical way.
In his youth, Aelar spent many years at the city of Ra-Ethens as a guard. After fully grasping his magical powers, he moved to the now-destroyed kingdom of Alk’ellan within the Faewild, where he worked hard to position himself for a seat within the Royal Court as an advisor to the king. His charisma and intelligence kept him from losing his soul to the Fae and their deals and promises.
When Alk’ellan was destroyed by a rival clan of Fae, Aelar left the Faewild and returned to the Material Plane, to wander Aetherius in search of new challenges. It was during this time that he met a young Sonrae, and sensed her potential as a wizard. He took her in as his pupil, and trained her in the art of bladesinging.
Aelar has been on the hunt for a spell or artifact that will allow him to pierce through the Tide’s End Blockade. To this end, he has found his way to the Temple of He-Who-Was, an ancient god whose name was forgotten when a band of god-killers broke his hold on Aetherius with something called the Plane Splitter. Unsure of what exactly the Plane Splitter is, Aelar hopes to use its’ power to free the city of Tide’s End from the Blockade and allow its’ citizens to return to their normal lives.
