Brierwell Estate
Brierwell Estate is shrouded in mystery, as there are no records of the founding of the Manor itself. It is said that the estate was already 600 years old when the first recorded Count began his personal diaries - though even this date is a guess since they reference ancient stonework and previous owners. What is known is that all owners of the Estate, throughout its history, have lived lives in decadent luxury. The biggest challenges they faced were always Warbands of orcs, Hill Tribesmen, and intense boredom - which is the most commonly complained about offense in Brierwell records. It wasn’t uncommon for the residing lord to hire military leaders to lead their private army, which would attempt to clear out the surrounding areas.
For generations, lords of the Brierwell Estate enjoyed their lives of luxury due to control of a steady stream of Mysterium from Mistmire Citadel. However, once the betrayed Niko Von Krohl took control of Mistmire Citadel, their supply was cut off. Once the coin that had afforded Brierwell its legendary avarice dried up, so too did the surrounding town’s, with many residents fleeing Anteaus entirely for Argantus or the Sea of Storms. Since then, Brierwell has stood eerily silent, though any resident of Anteaus will suggest that the land it sits upon is cursed and as such will generally avoid it and caution others to do the same.

The Ledger
- “The servants have gone mad and began to rip into each other like wild beasts. Those who are unaffected have taken what they can and fled. Something unholy chitters in the dark outside. I cannot bring myself to leave the estate, but I can hear them just down the hall.”
- The ledger is coated in caked old blood rendering it mostly illegible. There is an empty pistol next to the note.
Ballroom Gossip
- The very first party he threw after becoming coming into ownership of the estates Lucien did stay for the majority of the party, before announcing that his brother X(I can’t remember the name at this exact moment) was to be left in charge of the entertainment for the family, that each of his cousins would be given a stipend and relocated to the 2nd floor of the house. While this angered a good many of them he did not stay to hear their complaints, and he retreated to the library.
- There are NUMEROUS conversations all about Lucien
- “How dare that welp relocate us all to the same floor, isn’t he aware that Samuel and Diane can’t be in the same room for more than a minute without spitting at each other? “ and similar conversations.
- A large fat ghost complains that the huntsman is late with the boar. “WELL I would certainly hope he’s hunting us a glorious hog that Suzan will roast with her magic so we don’t have to wait for it to be cooked, BAH, he was supposed to be here hours ago with that kill, all so he can have the glory of walking in covered in stinking pig blood…”
- There’s a couple who are gossiping about Lucien “You know he’s only moving us all to the same floor so he can construct a harem of half-breeds on the upper floors right? Young man like that can’t possibly be that interested in books and scrolls!”
- There is another who goes on “I think the huntsman is drunk, or fucking his kill…”
A Voice in the Abyss
- “To find him you must drown yourself in the circle of stars.”
Information Given By The Temple Of Nine
- Brierwell was constructed upon well-kept masonry that served as means of an aqueduct and a base in the soaked soil that often made larger structures difficult to rise in Antaeus. These ruins were never fully explored as they wound deep into the ground in numerous twisting caverns apparently leading to several of the expeditions never returning. These were all sealed off with the exception of those that led through the mountains to serve as a makeshift aqueduct.
- The mansion has since been expanded upon in ever more extravagant means by the unhinged and wealthy families that lived there, adding in ballrooms, libraries, columbaria, a garden, a greenhouse, a lighthouse, and an observatory to name a few. There are records of these renovations from the guilds hired from Argantus and Highgate to construct.
