Control Of Fane
Not officially given to The Goons, but they are undertaking it regardless.
Objective: Set up a stable government in Fane that can support the newly undead city.
With the sudden sentience of all the undead in Fane, Daitor has currently taken control but seem to be at a loss of what exactly to do with the city. There were 4 various factions vying for power in Fane when The Goons first entered the city, though that has now been increased to five. Below is a breakdown of the powers that be, and their motivations.
Sarash Brillhead: Was at one point part of the more noble class, but has now turned into more of a revolutionary. He wants independence for Fane and wants the undead population to look at this whole event as a humbling experience as he believes that this is the gods punishing Fane for being bigoted and classist. Basically, he views this as an opportunity to start over and get Fane back to its former glory, and as a result, he is very popular with the lower classes.
The Godfrey’s: It is unclear why the Godfrey’s still feel they have a birthright to the throne, but the family maintains that despite the actions of Petyr Godfrey they should be able to resume control over Fane. Though, it should be noted that many of the Godfrey’s (like Kaylin Godfrey) have gone more underground and don’t necessarily want the throne at all and are living under assumed names.
Edwald Harland: When the undead were once again given sentience, he made quick work of helping to barricade the palace and noble districts of Fane. Like many of the noble class, he is in denial about Fane’s new normal and wants to keep things traditional - i.e. I was born better than you so I deserve better than you do. He is also looking to separate everyone back into a classist system and is being anything but quiet about it. He also appears to be working with a litch to destroy the city, any non-noble inhabitants, and the occupying force of Daitor, escaping through a portal and then eventually returning to make the city anew.
Daitor & Bramak Blackhand: While Daitor seems to be at a loss of what exactly they will do with the city, as there are many conflicting ideas currently, they have teamed up with Bramak. One thought is that if they are unable to contain the undead and regain control, they will simply burn it all down and be done with it - obviously, the people of Fane are against this. However, Daitor does seem to be working in a less than honorable capacity as they are boxing and storing their newly turned undead - though for what reason it’s unclear. Bramak is hoping that order can be restored and as a result, he is choosing to work with Daitor, though he is willing to work with anyone he deems worthy.
Melinoe Expspiravit: Going by the name Melinoe Lightfeather, Melinoe is hoping to take control of Fane, though to what end it’s a little unclear. To some extent, she finds the idea of power to be thrilling but after a brush with death, she mainly seems to want to seize power in order to restore balance. Given her fondness for the undead and willingness to work with the living government of Daitor, she feels she would at the very least be a solid candidate. To that end, she has gotten the aid of both Bramak and Sarash as her ideals do tend to align with both of theirs. There is also the underlying desire to retake Jora Kampfrun‘s city, though that is more of a bonus rather than a main reason.
