Originally established and made-safe by the god-in-residence, all of the magical shields that protected the place threaten to cease function after the increase in demon activity threatens the safety of Longlenca’s God. Longlenca is protected by High Judges established by the prior sovereigns, charged with acting in the interests of the people should the interests of the city’s god ever turn destructive; as well as Knights from the lower city, Couloir; The City of Survivors, bound by an old promise to help their allies.
